Edgar Ursin Peyronnin, 91, died peacefully of natural causes on June 18, 2008, at his home in Valencia, Calif. He was born Oct. 16, 1916, in New Orleans. He was the sixth of seven children of Joseph Felix Peyronnin I and Anna Durel "Dabie" Peyronnin.

Edgar graduated from LSU in 1941. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Forces, leaving that branch as colonel. After the war, he resided in Metairie until moving to California in 1949. He became a financial executive for Northrop Aircraft and his financial restructuring plans are credited with saving that company from bankruptcy in the early 1950s. His father, who was a native of Pointe Coupee Parish, was a lawyer in New Orleans city real estate office.

In 1955, Edgar followed in his father's footsteps, graduating from Southwestern University Law School in Los Angeles and passed the California Bar that year. He became a vice president of contracts for Litton Industries and negotiated the contract by which Litton built the Air Defense Surveillance and Command System for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1979.

Ed enjoyed golf, horse racing and other sports, especially all LSU sports. He was predeceased by his wife, Carol Jo Peyronnin. He is survived by his son, Leonard S. Peyronnin, of Lafayette; and two daughters, Domonique Angelle Gray, of Valencia, and Donnelle Yvonne Borgeson, of Moorpark, Calif.; and five grandchildren. His ashes will be scattered in the Sequoia National Forest, where his beloved wife's ashes were scattered previously.
