Stanley Gewant

(November 25, 1925 - September 15, 2014)


Stanley Gewant, 88, of Woodland Hills, California passed away peacefully on September 15, 2014 with his family at his side. Stan was born in Brooklyn, NY where he grew up with his parents Celia and Alexander and his brother Ira. After serving in the US Navy, he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from CCNY and had a very successful career with Litton Industries.

Stan was an accomplished craftsman, photographer, cook, painter and mentor. He was a gifted mathematician with a sharp intellect and an eye for beauty. He loved fine food and great wines and enjoyed traveling. The patriarch of a large blended and devoted family, Stan is survived by his wife Elza, five daughters and sons-in-law, 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and his brother Ira.

Stan had a great love for his family and lived his life with passion. Memorial services were held at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills on September 23rd.
